Our Mission
Our purpose is to achieve economic prosperity and sustainable safe production in a balanced BC food industry. For our members we provide support, training, fellowship and a strong voice. For the public we provide good food, innovative nutrition solutions, public policy advice, sustainable economic benefits for communities, and public education.
Vision
We envision that the BC Food Processors Association will be the recognized leading supporter of the BC food industry.
Formed in 2004, the BC Food Processors Association supports members and the industry by:
- Serving as a communications link and information bank on issues that impact the growth of BC’s food, beverage and nutraceutical processing industries.
- Managing the BC Meat Industry Enhancement Strategy, an all encompassing strategy designed to increase the licensed slaughter capacity of BC.
- Seeking to establish and lead an all-purpose BC Food Technology Development Centre.
- Exploring the creation of a labour force development strategy including skills development, worker retention best practices, and domestic and foreign worker recruitment.
- Supporting and collaborating with all BC initiatives encouraging practices leading to a clean, sound and sustainable environment.
- Seeking to establish and be a leader for a strong BC Foods branding initiative.
