Professional Development Symposium “Driving Employees at the Operational Level” – 4 Perspectives
To remain competitive in today’s market it is important that Canadian food processors use every resource that they have. The Food Processing Human Resource Council (FPHRC) offers "Introduction to Continuous Improvement & Productivity Training", a 1 day workshop for the industry that can impact all processing occupations, from the plant floor to senior management.
OBJECTIVE
This course provides participants with a beginning look at strategies and guidelines that can help to improve an individual’s performance and that of their work team. The job task planning and organizing skills identified in this workshop will help participants to more effectively organize their work and life. By improving their ability to use the time and resources available, it can increase the individual's personal efficiency and the efficiency of their teams and workplace.

OBJECTIVE
The Enhanced Leadership Skills workshop is designed to give new and existing leaders in the food processing industry an immersion in standard leadership concepts. Their knowledge and leadership abilities will be enhanced by addressing industry specific competencies of monitoring production; ensuring quality and safety of products; ensuring adequate facilities, equipment, tools and safe work practices; and being able to address the generic competency of supervision of personnel.
CONTENT
This course provides food processing industry sanitation workers – more specifically, those who perform or will be performing sanitation in your plant, with essential general background knowledge related to the principles of cleaning and sanitation as well as common food industry practices. It also provides detailed instruction on the facility-specific cleaning and sanitizing procedures

OBJECTIVE
This course provides production workers in the food processing industry with general knowledge of the Quality Management Program (QMP) and its’ elements. By the end of the course, participants will have an understanding of the importance and the role the production workers can take in the delivery of the program.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Production workers who require basic knowledge of the elements of the QMP program in order to complete job tasks and responsibilities.
OBJECTIVE
This course provides Quality Assurance Technicians or individuals targeted for this position with general knowledge and standard occupational skills necessary to successfully perform in this occupation. By the end of the course, participants will have an understanding of the importance of a QA System and the importance of their role in a QA System or other Food Safety System.
