Cannabis in the Workplace

At this Joint HR and Operations Peer Group meeting, we are uncovering the rights, risks, and responsibilities of employers regarding medical cannabis and recreational cannabis in the workplace. Speaking to the group is Pamela Bragg, owner of Sakarny Management Inc. Pamela was the Cannabis 301 featured guest (hosted by Reliance Insurance), and is an expert consultant who can help you establish policies to regulate medical and recreational Cannabis at work, and to keep the workplace safe. As per Cannabis 301, Pamela advises,
“For those of you operating in a safety sensitive environment, it becomes even more significant in that those jobs need to be designated as safety-sensitive. Talk to your HR people, talk to your safety people because if those jobs say they are safety sensitive in the job description, it comes with some advantages for you, the employer."

About the Speaker:
Pamela Bragg is owner of Sarkany Management Inc., a Human Resources Consulting firm, which offers a broad range of services- however the majority of her time is currently being spent on helping her clients better understand the impact of both recreational and medicinal marijuana on the workplace, and preparing them for Canadian legalization through policy development and management training.
She is proud to be have been working with the BC Trucking Association, of which she is an Associate Board Member, the Canadian Fuels Association, Concrete BC, Concrete Alberta, Roofing Contractors Association, the BC Road Builders, the Canadian Association of Fleet Supervisors on this important topic. Further she is thrilled to be part of the Speakers Network with the Mac Kay CEO Forums.
Pamela has a comprehensive background in human resources including being Senior HR Director for a multi-national firm where she led a US Canada advisory team on understanding the impact of legalization of cannabis on the employer employee relationship. She hold a Masters Certificate in Strategic Human Resources & Masters Certificate in Organizational Change from Royal Roads University.
