Mijune is the founder and personality behind the popular food and travel blog www.followmefoodie.com. Named industry’s “Must Follow” at The Social Media Awards, it is internationally recognized and respected as one of the top ones in Canada. She is also the food columnist for the Westender, culinary host on Novus TV, honorary media judge for BC Chefs' Association, and judge for the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards. Vikram Vij

Restaurant OwnerVij's Restaurant

Vikram is the founder of Vij's Restaurant, which has become renowned in Vancouver, across Canada, and now globally as one of the finest Indian dining experiences in the world. Vikram was a guest judge on Top Chef Canada in 2011 and 2012 and he was the guest of honour in a 2013 Top Chef Canada episode dedicated to Indian cuisine. He was also a judge on the first ever Chopped Canada show, which premiered on Food Network Canada in January 2014 and he appeared weekly on CBC’s Recipe to Riches. October 2014 saw Vikram make his debut as the first Indo-Canadian Dragon on CBC’s Dragons’ Den. During Vikram’s time in the Den, he invested in a number of new businesses and continues to work with the entrepreneurs involved.

 

Charles Chang

Ken Clark has worked and managed in every perishable department at store level and has had the good fortune of having the opportunity of working for and learning from a number of very good organizations like Steinberg/Miracle Food Mart, Loeb/IGA, Loblaw’s/National Grocers, Ontario Pork Marketing Board, the Oshawa Group and IBP/Lakeside Packers.

For the past twenty years he has had the great pleasure to call the Overwaitea Food Group home where he has been a member of the Senior Management Team.  Ken’s role today is General Manager of Corporate Brands where he and his Team are responsible for the Western Family private label brand development and direction for all areas of the business.

James Street is the Food Processing Lead for the Sector Development Branch of the BC Ministry of Agriculture.

A strong force in the Food Processing and Foodservice industries for over 25 years, James has been at the forefront of new product innovation, infrastructure and local supply chain development. James is a Red Seal Chef and owns Stellar Food Group, a manufacturer of multiple products including but not limited to gluten free mixes, sausages, nitrate free bacon and gourmet fruit preserves. Through his own enterprises and as a director on many boards, James has strategized the creation of new markets, strategic messaging and niche products adapting to an ever changing consumer palate.

Danny Markowicz

Executive ChefWhite Spot

Danny brings 20 years of diverse culinary experience to the White Spot and Triple O’s organization. After completing his Red Seal designation at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, Danny moved to Vancouver to pursue his passion for all things food.

From the Five Diamond property at the Pan Pacific Hotel, to opening the Fairmont Vancouver Airport and honing his culinary excellence at Diva @ the Met, Danny is always up to the challenge to create that next great taste. As Development Chef at Browns Social House he was instrumental in building the menu and culinary team to a point where the brand reached scalability, and he now leads the charge as Executive Chef for White Spot limited, creating menu items for promotional and core menu offerings across two iconic brands. Danny’s rare level of creativity, unfalteringly positive attitude and deep understanding of the hospitality business make any culinary challenge an exciting possibility.

Jeff Nadon

Local Product DevelopmentSobeys

Jeff started his career in the food business 12 years ago after finishing his degree at Royal Roads University. He started with Kraft Foods in sales where he managed customers such as London Drugs, Overwaitea Food Group and Walmart. He then went to work with Olympic Dairy where he learned the value and importance of local products and the positive effects they can have with producers, consumers and retailers.

Just about a year ago he joined Sobeys in a brand new role that focuses on bringing more local products to the store shelves in BC. He is excited about the opportunity to grow Sobeys local offerings and help showcase all of the great products we produce in BC.
