The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and implementing the daily, weekly and monthly production schedule. This role works closely with the production team to ensure all materials and resources are available to facilitate the most cost effective and timely production of all customer orders.


  • Maintain a master schedule for production based on building schedule tools, which includes sales forecasts, inventory levels (min/max) to provide adequate lead time to plan, order and receive ingredients
  • Build a daily and weekly production schedule based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and materials on hand
  • Monitor the schedule and anticipate possible changes due to availability of resources or other issues
  • Work closely with the Operations team, purchasing and floor personnel to keep jobs on track
  • Liaison with the Marketing team to ensure successful launching of new products
  • Work with the Warehouse and CSR in identifying shortages and making sure product arrives on time
  • Create, and maintain KPI’s, including daily schedule conformance, weekly schedule conformance, orders and fulfillment and change over percentage
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Diploma or post-secondary qualification including mathematical and data analysis, statistics, material resource planning, or business-related discipline
  • Minimum of 2-3 years related work experience in the manufacturing environment; food industry preferred
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
