BC Food Processors Association Announces Changes to its Board of Directors, Executive

Surrey, BC - The BC Food Processors Association (BCFPA) is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors: Jasmine Byrne of Big Mountain Foods, Chantal Keely from Farm Credit Canada, Pamela Ambriz with Vitalus Nutrition, and Steve MacIntyre of Silver Hills Bakery. The Board provides leadership for carrying out the Association’s mission to raise industry profile and support our members. 

These new appointments will replace outgoing Directors include former Chair James Pratt, former treasurer/secretary Jozef Hubburmin, and director Mike Nunn. ‘It’s always exciting to have new Directors to provide fresh ideas and a new perspective, but the leadership and experience provided by James, Jozef and Mike are tough to replace’ said James Donaldson, CEO of the BCFPA. ‘Their significant contributions to the Association and to myself are greatly appreciated and will be missed’.

Additionally, at its Annual General Meeting on June 26th, the BCFPA Board of Directors also appointed a new Executive Committee. Rick Gibbs, President of Neutron Factory Works, will serve as the new President and Chair; Jeff Zonneveld was appointed Vice Chair, and Kay Woodland, Founder & President of Lifestyle for Life as Secretary.  Rounding out the Executive Committee is David Guthrie, Partner, KPMG as Treasurer and Robin Smith of FoodWest Resources as Vice Chair.

‘I’ve been a member of the BCFPA for many years am excited about how far we’ve come and am honoured to be able to serve the Association as Chair’ said Rick Gibbs.  ‘I’m excited to work with James and the Board of Directors through the next chapter of our evolution as the voice of food and beverage manufacturers in BC as we continue to grow and provide value to our members’ added Gibbs

The BCFPA is dedicated to help our industry achieve economic prosperity and sustainable safe production. The BCFPA represents micro, small, medium, and large processing companies, and since 2004 has grown to approximately 600 member companies.
